I want to publicly thank the staff at the CarQuest Auto shop on Everett Avenue. On Aug.16, a faulty battery terminal ignited a fire in my 86 pro-street Camao on I-5. With the help of a state patrol trooper, the fire was put out – but, a lot of damage was done.
CarQuest opened their doors to me long after they had closed for the day and installed a new battery at no charge to get me on the road. The following day, they provided me with new battery terminals and put them on as well. They even provided me with a new fire extinguisher after I had used mine up on the fire.
I want to also thank Dave Hoglund with Hoglund’s Top Shop on Evergreen Way for agreeing to work with the insurance company to provide me with a show quality new interior. And, a big thanks to the female state trooper on duty that evening, whose fire extinguisher was bigger than mine.
I also want to mention that this particular Camaro is used in a variety of car shows and the assistance provided by the above folks in getting this car back to show quality was priceless. You rarely see service like this anymore.
