We have two adult children. Our daughter will be graduating this year from Central Washington University and our son will be finishing his first year at Washington State University.
Their K-12 education was in the Marysville School District. The rich academic experience they received was a result of the dedication that the Marysville School District employees show to this community.
We wanted to take a moment to thank the crossing guards who knew our children by name, the school secretaries who kept track of them, the school nurse’s aide who had our phone number on speed dial one year, the bus driver who waited more times than we would have liked, the lunchroom workers who always had juice when our son couldn’t drink milk, the custodians who never complained when they were doing projects after school, the teachers who sought and found each of our children’s unique gifts, the administrators who urged them on and the coaches who showed them teamwork.
It wasn’t by chance that our children have become wonderful, caring adults. They had fabulous role models throughout their educational experience. Marysville schools have a tradition of excellence that will never be shown through a test score, but rather by the successful adults in our communities.
Thank you for providing our children the education that has given them the tools to be two of those successful adults.
