I am a resident of Snohomish County and drive south each day to work in Bellevue. Our state has done little to relive traffic congestion in the last 20 years and we are now tied for the worst traffic in the nation. As I look at the candidates for governor, I ask myself, “Who would most take control and help to fix this problem?”
I believe that John Carlson will take the bull by the horns and build the roads we need, without expensive new taxes. In the last 15 years our state’s population has increased 20 percent. Our state’s government has increased 62 percent. Has our government improved 62 percent? I don’t believe so and neither does John Carlson. That is how he can improve roads without tax increases. There is more than enough state fat to cut and make available for roads. If we continue to ignore the problem, it will eventually impact our economy as businesses and residents opt for areas other than Western Washington and Washington state altogether.
