I am replying to the Tuesday letter, “Did mail carrier or thief get donation?”
I am the spouse of a rural carrier and try annually to go out and help my wife pick up the donated food. Most rural carriers have enlisted family and friends to help pick up donations because of the limited space in their vehicles. We generally go out ahead of our carriers to take the pressure off of them. For some reason this year we didn’t receive as many donation thank you cards as last year. I know of several volunteers who picked up donated items and didn’t have cards to put next to the mailboxes.
Please continue to give to this good cause. If someone stole the food they probably needed it as much as the food bank.
