I cannot remain quiet any longer. The American system of justice is failing us. There is nothing just about the system.
Case in point, Richard Clark. His punishment for his most heinous crime, the rape and murder of Roxanne Doll, is to have all his medical needs attended to for free, all his dental needs attended to for free. To have all his meals, clothing and a residence provided at no cost. Additionally, exercise equipment, a well-stocked library, legal assistance, and in all probability, amenities he did not enjoy before his incarceration, supplied at no cost to him, for the rest of his life, while many of our senior citizens must choose between food and medication.
What a travesty to provide him with all of this as punishment for depriving Roxanne of her life.
Our system of justice needs some serious revamping. A man’s word is no longer his bond. It seems like “it’s not my fault” is the current catch-phrase. This seems to open the doors to years and years of legal finagling over points which really have no bearing on whether or not the individual committed the crime.
What’s wrong with the death penalty? Why are we so afraid to risk the life of one possibly innocent person, yet willing to risk the lives of hundreds of thousands of our young and promising men in conflicts around the world?
There are those of you right now, who feel that I must be a barbarian, yet the Bible advocates an eye for an eye. It is said that the death penalty is not a deterrent, so what? It absolutely guarantees that individual not only won’t commit another crime, but neither will he be a burden on the state coffers for the next 30 to 50 years.
