Regarding the June 23 article, “Neighbors bristling over cat trappings”:
I do not mind the cats roaming because I do not like mice and rats.
We lived in Navy housing in Virginia Beach and they decided that cats must be on a leash. Our neighbor had a big old tom cat that roamed at night and she had to keep him in. It wasn’t very long before we had mice and rats getting into our units. As soon as the cats were allowed to roam again, no more rodents.
Please do not shut up the cats. We need the rodent control.
