Every year at this time I re-read or listen to Martin Luther King’s 1967 Vietnam speech, “Beyond Vietnam — A Time to Break Silence,” (http://www.hartford-hwp.com/archives/45a/058.html) and I am reminded of and appalled by the blatant hypocrisy that we witness from politicians of all persuasions. Political correctness demands that MLK be celebrated and revered, whereas in reality that same, very pertinent, speech given today would have by Dr. King branded by many as “An Enemy of the State.” MLK is rolling in his grave!
