I don’t know if it’s just me, but I find it rather amusing that the CEOs of the auto making industry show up for their hearing looking for a “bailout” a couple weeks ago in their own personal corporate jets. After being chastised by the judge for their wasteful ways, all of a sudden, they’re willing to drive hybrids to court, and lower their salaries to a ridiculous sum, in order get this money, that will be paid for by us.
The higher echelon of these companies don’t need a salary anymore. They’ve already milked the companies dry, and will most likely live pretty high on the hog for the rest of their existence. The only ones who will be hurt by this “spending cutback” will be the workers. Loss of jobs, cutting back to save money, etc. They will end up just like the financially irresponsible CEOs of the banks … living pretty, while the rest of us pay for it. It’s time to stop this idiocy, folks. These people’s children will have the best of the best. Our children, however, will have to carry the burden of these people’s greed, and their children. Sickening if you ask me.
