If we have learned anything about institutionalized racism, it’s that representation matters and the comics page is a great example. Hanging onto comics like Dennis the Menace and Peanuts, long after the original cartoonist died has kept the comics page oh-so-white, as there is no space for a new generation of creators, especially ones of color. So with the end of Stone Soup I truly hope that Jump Start or another voice from a community of color will replace it.
