The recent protests blaming Wall Street for our economic woes are real, but they could use some direction. A free economy in a country with balanced rules, regulations and taxes will thrive. A comparison of Switzerland’s business climate to ours provides adequate proof.
Switzerland’s gross domestic product per capita is $63,629, while that of the United States is $46,400. Switzerland’s unemployment rate is 3.9 percent, compared to the United States’ unemployment rate of 9.1 percent. This indicates we need government leadership willing to change our U.S. business climate to one like Switzerland’s, which supports a free economy with better balanced rules, regulations and taxes.
