Regarding the Jan. 14 article, “Charge-up stations planned on U.S. 2,” which states, “The state and several businesses and local organizations are planning to install several charging stations for electric vehicles along U.S. 2 this year.”
And the Jan. 17 article, “What can Monroe expect after Walmart?” which states: “Downtown mom-and-pop shop owners fear the city of 17,000 could lose part of its identity from traffic congestion and competition with the big-box store (Walmart).”:
Work together and do whatever it takes to ensure that an electric vehicle charging station is placed in Old Downtown Monroe.
While the vehicle owners are waiting for their cars to be recharged, entice them to spend that time shopping in Old Downtown Monroe.
