Chew on this
The notion that chewing gum while working improves your concentration and short-term memory may be malarkey, a new British study says. Apparently, this has something to do with the fact that the human brain is terrible at performing two tasks simultaneously.
That finding will surprise no one who has ever watched fast-growing 13-year-old boys attempt to walk and chew gum at the same time.
Facebook for Kids: Speaking of 13-year-olds, Facebook is studying ways to allow them, and younger kids, to use the social network without resorting to lying about their ages. One idea is to connect children’s accounts with their parents’ accounts.
If taking away the opportunity to get something through lying doesn’t make Facebook less attractive to under-13s, exposure to their moms’ FarmVille accounts definitely will.
Upgrayd time: Microsoft has unveiled new software that will enable the Xbox game machine to stream and share content from the Internet.
Microsoft also will install Internet Explorer on the Xbox. The Buzz suggests the following advertising slogan: “Xbox: Now With a Web Browser You Haven’t Used Since 2007.”
