Regarding the article, “Convicted sex offender arrested after Arlington girl, 12, tells of assault”: I believe that sexual assault of a minor that involves violence of any kind should be considered a capital offense and would therefore be punishable by a minimum of life in prison (first offense). Preferably an immediate execution.
Any sexual crime without violence against a child (under 16), would carry a minimum of 25 years. You cannot rehabilitate someone who is that sick. Even if that were possible, once they have crossed that line they are not worth rehabilitating. They are destroying our children and all I hear about is their “rights.”
As far as I am concerned they gave them up when they decided to harm a small, innocent child. If the punishment was harsh enough, or even came close to fitting the crime, maybe they would think twice and we could spare some of these children the horror they suffered. Not only that, but think of the money the state would save in appeals and monitoring of these scumbags.
