I went to school on this campus for six years in the 1970s. In that time I attended Pilchuck Middle School, Pilchuck High School, and Marysville Pilchuck High School. I am heartsick for my school and my town. I never thought we would have this level of violence here. I’ve placed flowers at the memorial, worn a red and white ribbon over my heart, but I wanted to do something concrete. Thanks to MPHS’s event coordinator, this happened.
I belong to a woman’s performing choir, Sonus Boreal, based in Marysville. Many of our members are graduates of MPHS, our director is a former MPHS teacher, Stuart Hunt. We were honored to have been invited to perform the national anthem at their assembly Monday morning, as well as a song later in the day. We wanted to show our support the best way we know how, with music from the heart. Thank you, Dick Caldwell and students of MPHS for letting us join in this day.
