I just want to take a minute to remind people that the peaceful transition of power is one of the greatest point of our Constitution. No matter who wins, we have a duty to this country to protect and nurture it. I am sometimes stunned by intelligent friends of both Democratic and Republican persuasions, who state that if their guy doesn’t win they will leave the country.
When a citizen joins the military they swear to protect and defend the Constitution and to obey the president, their commander-in-chief. They do not have an option to leave if their guy does not win. And if we support our troops, as so many people profess to do, we need to support their commander-in-chief as well.
We should not be seeking to divide our nation with bickering, we should be working toward solutions and collaboration, and sometimes agree to disagree.
