This is in response to the May 20 front page article, “Styrofoam on the way out?” It’s about Edmonds trying to ban the use of Styrofoam take-out containers. In August of this year, Edmonds will be banning the use of plastic bags. I really like both of these ideas.
Going “green” is the way of the future. Everett doesn’t have a way to recycle Styrofoam and the plastic bags will always be around if people don’t recycle them. I know some grocery stores have receptacles for people to put their used plastic bags in for recycling, but how many people actually bother to do it?
I feel Everett should get on board and help lead the way in banning both of these environmentally harmful items.
