The Snohomish stimulus plan doesn’t work. While most businesses on First Street are bending over backwards to get customers into their stores, the Snohomish City Council just wants to give us the shaft.
First of all they prohibited advertising with A-boards and now they priced the bike show, the busiest day of the year, out of Snohomish by insisting on policing a problem-free event with the equivalent of the 4th infantry division. What’s next — a Marine battalion for the Easter parade?
It’s about time the city starts doing something for the businesses in town; after all, we pay their salary. And why do we need so much staff in City Hall, as we have enough people there to run a third world country.
Maybe a class in running a business is what the council needs.
