I got a laugh out of the April 21 article “Terrace cracks down on backyard parking,” which reported that the Mountlake Terrace City Council is stopping residents from parking cars on grass or gravel because it causes pollution.
They offer free permits to install driveways made of grasscrete … a porous material. But the best one is you may use parallel concrete strips with grass in between, right under the middle of the vehicle where most of the oil would drip from. I hope those people are paid according to their intelligence; there would be no impact on the treasury.
