Clones to the left of me, clones to the right

Clone — It’s what’s for dinner: European Union food safety officials have determined that meat and dairy products from cloned animals pose no inherent risks to consumers).

The Buzz wonders what Eddie “Bozo” Miller would think of cloned food. Miller, who died Monday, was a champion “trencherman” or extreme eater, who once downed 27 2-pound chickens in one sitting at a Trader Vic’s.

Then again, after the first 23 chickens, everything starts to taste the same anyway.

Speaking of clones: You won’t see any celebrities behaving badly at tonight’s Golden Globes. That’s because you won’t see any celebrities. They’re staying home because of the writers strike, and the award ceremony won’t be much more than a press conference (Page A2).

Should the strike last until the Academy Awards, producers for the Oscars say they’ll just use old scripts from previous Oscar nights. Which means Brad Pitt will accept Elizabeth Taylor’s 1966 Best Actress Oscar for “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” and “Ben-Hur” will win again, as it did in 1960 for Best Picture.
