Coffee company sends gifts to soldiers in Iraq

As the parents of Major Cynthia Millonzi, a member of the 81st Brigade of the Washington National Guard stationed in Baghdad, Iraq, we are so very grateful to the Caffe Vita Coffee Roasting Company and manager Nikol Fiala for their very generous gift of coffee and related products they sent to Cynthia and the brigade for the Christmas holidays. I know that this gift will be gratefully appreciated by all of the members of the company. It will bring Washington a little closer at this time.

As I spoke to Nikol, I learned that Caff Vita was started in 1995 in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood by founder Mike McConnell. It is now one of the premier gourmet coffee roasters in the United States. Caff Vita operates with a simple formula for success: intense dedication to both its customers and its product. Caff Vita is now headquartered in Seattle’s Capitol Hill district, where the company added a second retail store, and houses its roasting, production and administrative operations. In 2002 Caff Vita added a third retail location in downtown Olympia. In addition to the retail operations, it provides roasted coffee to more than 400 restaurants, cafes and coffee houses, including Seattle’s Le Pichet, Oceaniare and Tulio as well as Olympia’s Waterstreet Caf Sorrento and Trinacria.

During this time of the year, especially for our troops so far away, we are so appreciative of such kindness and generosity. It will be a little bit of home for them. Thank you, Caff Vita and Nikol Fiala. You are very special.
