Columnist is just apologizing for Bush

The bombastic, neo-facist Bill O’Reilly must be using Rush’s medication these days. His Sunday column is so far off the deep end, I must reply to some of the worst parts.

His view that the California recall shows voters don’t want a smear campaign is just plain wrong. Personally I feel much of what comes from that state is irrelevant at best. But the recall at least shows elections have deteriorated to a popularity contest, no longer a search for the “best and the brightest.” And that rich politicians, like the Republican state senator who paid for the recall, let egos take over for sound judgment.

I won’t dignify his rewriting of the Iraq situation, but he is very wrong to say the Democrats on are the wrong side of every social issue. For one, I assume he refers to medical marijuana when he writes of “legalizing narcotics.” I think the record shows nearly every state that has put this issue on the ballot has seen it pass.

Mr. O’Reilly must finally see what a weak, low-brow president Mr. Bush has shown himself to be these past three years, so is putting on the “blitz” to apologize for him.
