In the May 16 Herald, sports writer Larry LaRue wrote, “Bottom of the ninth inning of this one, everyone – including Lou Piniella – was sweating .44 magnum shells.”
This is offensive, threatening, violent and all that rot. If Mr. LaRue were a student in any school in Snohomish County, he would be expelled immediately and his bedroom and computer would be searched. I hope that Herald management will search Mr. LaRue’s writing for any more dangerous statements. Also management should provide counseling and protection for any Herald employees who might feel threatened or who might sweat profusely.
