Based on Bill Sheets’ Oct. 19 article, it is apparent that if commercial airline service is to be had at Paine Field, it will need to be subsidized by Snohomish County. The question is will the people of Snohomish County be willing to tax themselves to build facilities at Paine Field to accommodate commercial airline service? Personally, my answer is no.
I like my County Council representative’s (Gary Nelson) statement that Paine Field is not a “field of dreams.” Any additions to accommodate commercial airline service will have to be paid by the airlines.
