Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County is proud to be a part of this fine community which has once again opened its heart in support of our programs. The 2004 Dream Builders Auction held on Oct. 2 raised $140,000 because of the kind and caring efforts that extended countywide.
Our success was led by The Everett Clinic, which hosted the gala at the Everett Events Center. Event sponsors included Allstate Insurance, Boeing, DR Horton, Overall Laundry Services, Philips Medical Systems, The Herald, Comcast, Community Transit, Gamut 360, Group Health, Hascal, Sjoholm &Co., Kimberly-Clark, Milgard Windows, Providence, Safeco, and SunGro Horticulture. Thanks also to the YMCA of Snohomish County for your continued support in making our agency a success.
Significant cash donations were added to the more than 622 items donated by businesses and individuals to benefit the children of Snohomish County. The money raised goes directly to support the 445 volunteer/child matches that we currently serve as well as to make new matches for the 167 children waiting for a Big Brother or Big Sister.
So many people worked together to ensure our success. Carl Wopperer of CW Productions worked tirelessly as our auction chair. Christian Kar of Espresso Connection and Silver Cup Coffee was honored as the 2004 Auction Angel for his outstanding efforts. For the second year in a row The Dream Builders Auction was chosen as a “Comcast Cares Day” project and we were thrilled to put 57 enthusiastic employee volunteers under the direction of Dena Searcy to work on set-up, the event presentation and clean-up activities
Our thanks go out to everyone who participated in this event. Your gift ensures continued growth in the number of children and families we are able to serve with these vital, free-of-charge programs. By taking dreams seriously you are helping to bring a little magic into the life of a child. We are filled with gratitude.
