I was very pleased to read the March 16 article “Mukilteo Gets Warning on Rosehill” in The Herald regarding the letter sent by the Mukilteo School Board to Mukilteo’s city council. I am heartened to hear that the school district remains committed to preserving the educational opportunities in the fine arts available at the Rosehill Community Center. I believe that access to affordable classes in this area compliments our city’s commitment to fine public education.
I thank the school board members and Superintendent Dr. Gary Toothaker for reminding the city council of the school district’s mandate regarding continuing educational opportunities for local citizens at the site.
My family and I enjoy classes at Rosehill five days a week. We feel quite fortunate to have such a vibrant community center. I hope that the school board’s letter, along with the input from citizens, has impressed upon the council the vital need for making a high quality community center a top priority for the Rosehill site.
