Community made day special for teacher

I would like to thank the Trafton community for the wonderful retirement send-off that was held in my honor in June. I was thrilled to greet so many past and present students of Trafton School. I truly felt honored that day, and realized that I did make a difference in the lives of many kids and their families.

Words cannot express my thanks, nor can I even begin to individually thank everyone who made that day a success. I especially thank the current Trafton staff, many of whom I have worked with for many years. They are a special group of educators who have been a joy to work with. The PTC of Trafton Elementary worked many hours to invite past students, teachers, principals, etc. as well as Friends of Trafton. What a joy to have Marv and Winnie Hendrickson at my retirement. Dick Post always loved to come out to Trafton and it was so special that he came. I was even honored by the Singing Staff from Presidents’ Elementary. So many of my former kids came to visit. What a joy to see them again!

I received a beautiful quilt with class pictures and Trafton School embroidered in the center. Leslie Faxon put it all together. Susan Aylesworth did the beautiful embroidery, and my sister, Ellen, quilted it for them.

The many gifts and flowers have been greatly appreciated.

The Trafton family will always be in my heart. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your lives and giving me the opportunity to teach such wonderful children at a terrific school.
