Early this week, Apple’s share price climbed above $600. Subsequently, Apple has decided to issue a dividend with some of its $98 billion in cash reserves.
I have a great idea for Apple to spend some of its reserves, one that would yield an incredible amount of goodwill amongst Americans. Apple should move at least one factory or assembly plant to the United States. This move would also help Apple sidestep any suspicion of human rights violations which, even when false, can be damaging.
So many of Apple’s customers are Americans, from students to business people. We have made our investment in Apple, and every iPad holder is a de facto shareholder. Will Apple participate in the reinvestment in American manufacturing?
