Compromise, for crying out loud

I am so angry with Congress today. All of them, Democrats and Republicans, seem to have their own agenda. There does not seem to be any consideration for their constituents. Or our country. Or our welfare.

Elderly on Medicaid, seniors depending only on Social Security, the military fighting for our country expected to fight even though their families here have no money, medical, or perhaps even a home. When (if) this country goes sideways I am sure they in Congress will still get paid, as will the people working for them. How very nice for them, while the rest of us suffer. I think they need to come on home and live through this disaster with us.

I cannot begin to describe my disgust with the selfishness of elected people in Washington, D.C. What are they thinking? Where are they going? And what do they expect those of us sitting here at home are to do? With the exception of not voting for any of them in the next election.

If they expect to have any hope of getting re-elected, are they going to tell the banks they so nicely bailed out that the banks are not to raise our interest rate when we cannot pay our credit card bills, which is what we are going to have to live on? Are they going to tell the oil companies that earned billions to lower gas prices to a reasonable level, so we at least have a way to get to doctor appointments, etc.? That’s if we can find a doctor willing to take us, because we are on Medicare.

It is time for Congress to get off its duff, start thinking about the people of the United States, get this budget process going and finished. Compromise. America and its people need them to do their job!
