In reference to the Tuesday letter, “Radio offers flickering logic,” I had to respond. There are lots of scenarios that involve people who are able to get online, wanting information about power outages.
How about those individuals who live within the affected area but are at work or a coffee shop and have power access to a computer? Then there are those who are unaffected but want to check on the status of loved ones. Or, those who have lap-tops with batteries, or generators that kick in when the power goes out? Maybe they want to know when their power will come back.
Just because the writer does not see the sense in making that broadcast, it could be beneficial to many.
