There is much heated controversy about how things are apparently being mishandled at our border with Mexico. Everyone has an opinion as to what should or shoulnd’t be done. This often includes our leaders in the legislative branch of government.
Law enforcement, obviously falls into the hand of the executive branch, which includes the president, attorney general, border security personnel and at times the local police departments.
Those who like to create and stir up an environment of controversy, hated and fear continually use the news media to influence the general public against all levels of law enforcement, whose primary duty is to uphold and enforce the existing laws of the land.
The real source of the problems at the border, as well as the solutions, lies with the legislative branch, namely Congress.
Perhaps, we as concerned citizens need to direct our anger at members of Congress and insist they get off TV and confine themselves to the halls of Congress until this many-faceted issue is resolved.
They alone have the power and responsibility to create new laws if that is indeed what needs to be done.
