What’s happening in Washington, D.C. is all too similar to the Tiger Woods affair:
It’s just too bad that adulterous Congressmen and women don’t try to heal their relationships with their constituents by returning home and making amends with the people who have sent them off to their “playground” in the Capitol building.
For decades these elected officials have been “sleeping” with lobbyists (the prostitutes) both figuratively and literally to support their extravagant, out-of-touch lifestyles and re-elections. They have done this by selling out their votes at our expense with no consequences imposed upon them.
We are the wounded and rightfully angry “spouses.”
Until these wayward senators and representatives show remorse and restore our faith and confidence in them based on integrity and true concern for our welfare, we need to file for divorce, kick them out of the house, and change the locks.
When will we, the citizens of Washington state and throughout our country, start showing some self-respect and draw a line in the sand the way that Tiger’s wife apparently has? When will we begin to insist on loyalty to us and hold these selfish individuals accountable for their actions? When will we stop voting for “leaders” who cheat on us, regardless of the party they represent?
Hasn’t the philandering gone on long enough?
