In a 2002 published report on terrorism, the United Nations identified SWIFT and other international bank monitoring programs, stating, “the United States has begun to apply new monitoring techniques to spot and verify suspicious transactions.” By 2004, it was generally agreed that terrorists were no longer using international banking channels – for that reason. Anyone who has ever watched a CSI or detective program knows that “follow the money” is a pretty basic technique. This is not news – and is certainly not traitorous!
The Wall Street Journal stated in a recent editorial, “at no point did Treasury officials tell us not to publish the information … What Journal editors did know is that they had senior government officials providing news they didn’t mind seeing in print. If this was a ‘leak,’ it was entirely authorized … “
Has the administration again “leaked” information to the press (well known but classified), to get its “base” all riled up? Sounds to me like we’re all being manipulated – again.
