On Friday morning, a major news network opened the program featuring the death of singer Johnny Cash followed by the death of actor John Ritter. Several minutes were occupied with those two items. Then came an announcement that two U.S. soldiers had been killed in Iraq. To paraphrase the words of Joseph Stalin, one death of one soldier in Iraq is a tragedy. Two or more soldier deaths in Iraq are statistics.
President George Dubya “Bring ‘em On” Bush has eliminated two words from his vocabulary, “WMD” and “Saddam.” He now substitutes “terror” in his excuses for sacrificing the elite of our young men in uniform. This past week he gave a major television speech which lasted 18 minutes in which he used the words, “terror” or “terrorism” 20 times.
When will Dubya tell the truth to the American public in which only one word need be spoken: oil.
