For crying out loud. Lake Stevens City Councilwoman Suzanne Quigley is stopped for suspicion of DUI, has a blood-alcohol level of .10, and she pleads not guilty?
C’mon, Councilwoman. You were drinking and driving. You got caught. Accept responsibility for your actions and don’t play the ever popular “I’m full of regret for my bad judgment” trump card.
Just for once, I would love to see any person who holds a position of notable interest get stopped and booked for DUI and just say something to the affect of, “Yes. I was drinking and intoxicated and was pulled over. I was wrong and I will accept whatever the court deems appropriate for my actions.”
I am glad you learned a “really hard, good lesson,” Councilwoman … however, don’t expect any sympathy from the public for it being “jarring” to you.
You deserve what any John or Jane Doe deserves for your actions. Not guilty? Good Lord.
