Snohomish County Council member Megan Dunn recently posted on social media a cross-stitch design with the words “Be the LIGHT you want to see in the WORLD.” In the middle of the work she stitched a Molotov cocktail (“Dunn takes heat, apologizes for Molotov cocktail post,” The Herald, Oct. 1). These deadly incendiary devices have frequently been thrown directly at police and property in the Seattle “protests.” In Portland we are seeing them being used in outright attempts to kill police. Dunn attempted to explain it away as a mere “counter-culture cross stitching project,” but in fact she is championing a counter-culture which is extremely violent.
Dunn, here is an idea for a cross-stitch project: The text would read “Be the FORCE you want to see in the WORLD” and you could stitch a baseball bat like the one that was swung directly and with force at the head of a Seattle police officer recently. Enough force was used that it cracked his protective helmet.
Dunn should immediately resign from the County Council. If she does not have the principles to do that, I suggest that voters remember her deed and its motivation when voting.
