The election is here. We, your government, fellow citizens and candidates ask you to vote. Your vote matters! It is one of the highlights of civilization, in which mature, thoughtful, educated and interested people can review the choices at hand and choose the person who they feel will best move the society forward.
But how do you choose?
Local government is land management, social compact management and infrastructure management. The job of an elected is to bring the people what the people need and want in order for the community to function.
Because of his experience, I am recommending Raymond Miller.
Do we have an issue with taking care of our seniors? Who do you trust to understand the issue? The retired military vet or the man who is a year or so out of college? Yes, that’s a real thing. I am sorry if the supporters of Ray’s opponent don’t want that brought up, but maybe because there is some merit there?
I am a leader in the Democratic Party and I am generally going to support the Democrats in the race. However, I do not often write letters to the editor for anyone. In this case I am writing as a person who lives in Snohomish and who is looking at two people. I choose to believe that people do value a life-time of service over simple political gain. I believe that all of us would want our decades of work to mean something and I believe that that kind of work would better serve us.
