an someone please explain to me why owners of barking dogs have all the rights and their neighbors have none? In Snohomish County, Animal Control is under the jurisdiction of the Auditor’s Office. The Auditor’s Office? Is it just me or does that make no sense?
You cannot speak to a person if you call them. You can file a complaint online, but only if you can get another person to file a complaint also. So, since we live in a rural area, apparently I need to invite a bunch of friends over to spend the night listening to the barking dog. If Animal Control gets enough complaints they will refer them to the Prosecutor’s Office and they will decide whether to do anything. Oh, also, Animal Control will send the dog owner a letter. That will do me lots of good tonight. Whatever happened to disturbing the peace? If I stand out there yelling at the dog will I be cited for disturbing the peace? We’ll find out tonight.
