At the recent monthly meeting of the Snohomish chapter of Citizens Climate Lobby, we discussed Julie Titone’s articles in the Weekend Herald. We really appreciated reading Julie’s article on “Table Scraps and the Climate Crisis” and are again astounded by how much edible food is thrown away (“New law aims to break link between food waste, warming climate,” The Herald, Jan. 15).
We also were reminded that food waste dumped in the garbage generates so much methane, and it was especially helpful that The Herald published the “Do it yourself composting tips” that will help decrease food scraps in the garbage.
We are saving these articles to share with others with print and online links to The Herald website.
Thank you for covering environmental issues and climate change.
