As a former high school coach of over 25 years and a teacher in my 30th year, it is very gratifying and exciting to see the quality of reporting and photography The Herald has dedicated to high school athletics in the past few years.
Michael Cane and others have given Snohomish County athletes and their parents/fans a fantastic forum and platform to enjoy sport at its purest level.
I think I speak for many when I say how tiring it gets watching the national news and having to put up with Terrell Owens and other like-minded “me first” over-paid professionals who dominate the airwaves. It has always been a major source of frustration that too often the only teenagers we see on television or … sorry, the front page of the paper, are those who have shot someone or who have been in a fatal accident.
How refreshing to see these outstanding student-athletes shown in such a positive and first-class venue. Thank you!
