The recent letter regarding covid restrictions placed on restaurants is long overdue. Why The Herald and other news sources have not been supporting restaurant owners and their employees is inexcusable to me. And for those who would like to eat indoors, but can not because of Gov. Jay Inslee’s current covid rules, you can go out to the Tulalip and other Indian reservations and eat and drink in their restaurants and bars. If that isn’t a punch to the gut of restaurant owners who have had to shut down because of Inslee’s restrictions, I don’t know what is.
No restrictions at reservation restaurants, but off-reservation restaurants can not offer indoor dining. The Herald turns a blind eye to this and ignores this injustice. Start supporting local restaurants and speak out about this. Why is it that it seems to me, Indian reservations can make their own rules, which are opposite of rules citizens have to follow off Indian land? Eating indoors must be allowed.
