I don’t know about anyone else, but I think these chipped credit/debit cards we are now forced to use are ridiculous! I know, I saw it on Oprah that someone can walk past you with a magnet to steal your credit/debit card information … but I have never heard of it happening to anyone in real life … not ever! This chip is soooo annoying. I have walked away without my card so many times and I have seen countless people doing the same thing. It is awful to both the customer and the check-out clerks at all our stores now. I have asked my check-out clerks at my favorite store and they all said they literally hated them! It’s extra steps for the employee and pain in the patootie to customers. Oh, and don’t get me started about that horrible beep beep beep they have now implemented. I feel so sorry for check-out clerks who have to listen to that all day and night long!
I received mine in the mail and thought I had to activate it immediately so I did … and boy do I regret it. Who came up with this horrible idea? It has slowed down the check-out process tremendously by sometimes as long as 15 to 60 seconds. Sounds like a very short amount of time, but when you are standing there in line, staring off into space or trying to make idle conversation with the checker and other people in line it seems like an eternity. It is just a horrible invention/idea and I want them to go away and give us back the cards we have all been using for decades with little to no problems what so ever.
