Why have public voices risen, telling our cops what they should have done during the apprehension of a self-confessed murderer? We hire our cops to protect us from rabid dogs, and then tell the cops they need to do that without violence and with humane treatment. What fantasy world do such critics live in? Police officers can, and do, get killed doing their jobs. To stand on the sidelines and make commentary is irresponsible and shows no respect at all for men and women who risk their lives every day. Would those critics prefer all criminals believe they can do whatever they want, shoot and kill people and be treated with courtesy and served apple pie afterwards?
