Eugene Robinson does quite a hatchet job on Donald Trump in his Tuesday column, “Endorsing Trump will leave a mark.” According to him, Mr. Trump is racist, ignorant, capricious, an egomaniac, unfit for office, lacks character, mocks high ideals, is a con artist, and will put the nation in danger. Wow!
Perhaps the best response to Mr. Robinson comes from Mr. Trump himself. In his book “The Art of the Deal,” he says: “There are people — I categorize them as life’s losers — who get their sense of accomplishment and achievement from trying to stop others. As far as I’m concerned, if they had any real ability they wouldn’t be fighting me, they’d be doing something constructive themselves.”
