Sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll: Researchers say that brain scans of people show that listening to music releases dopamine in the brain, a chemical responsible for a feeling of pleasure, just as with eating, sex and illegal drugs.
The results were similar for all types of music, including classical, jazz and rock. However, study participants who listened to teen heartthrob Justin Bieber also reported unexpected hair growth and a tendency to inject “like” randomly into speech.
