Though not necessarily my first choice, I did want to offer kudos to Loren Culp for throwing his hat into the recent Washington state gubernatorial ring. Most of us citizens just sit back and complain. Culp took the time and made the effort to advance his views for this important elected position.
But the sad fact that he refuses to concede in the face of his defeat forces me to withdraw any such recognition of what would otherwise been an admirable civic effort. He is now obviously attempting some type of political canonization: Saint Culp, Washington state’s Patron Saint of Lost Causes. By extension, this same veneration applies at the national level.
