I have just spent half an hour helping my grandson with his health homework. This subject has been a bone of contention with me for some time – alcohol. While on the one hand all the dangers of the drug are clearly taught, not a thing is done as far as keeping the stuff away from them. Most likely all they have to do is look in the fridge at home.
Most teen car accidents involve alcohol, because it is so readily available to them. Every day there are the stories of teens losing their lives in car crashes. If a kid gets hurt on a tricycle, the things are pulled off the market, for fear of hurting another child, yet millions of dollars are spent to promote and defend the use of alcohol . Over half of our nation’s highway fatalities are caused by alcohol. Is the right to use this drug so important that we are willing to sacrifice all these lives to keep it? Throw in the tremendous cost of ruined lives of families. What will it take to wake us up?
