Regarding the article, “Lawmakers hear testimony about police use of deadly force”: Because no one is apparently required to obey an officer’s commands, I fail to see how training and data collection will help.
Would the training require the officer to beg for compliance with commands?
If the task force spent $60 million teaching people to show respect and comply with the law officers’ commands, this problem would greatly be minimized.
What this deadly force bill is requiring is law enforcement officers make a perfect decision in a split second every time. How many of you could do that? The thankless job of police law enforcement is one of the few jobs that can send you to prison for doing your job.
This proposed deadly force bill will be a major deterrent for quality recruits.
Remember law enforcement officers serve and protect all of us.
Police lives matter.
