Decision made on Snohomish Carnegie building; move on

Enough. The Aug. 27 letter to the editor from Morgan Davis regarding the Snohomish Carnegie Library project had, in fact, nothing to do with that project (“Wouldn’t it have been greener to keep Snohomish building?”). The library renovation and accompanying town square plan has been decided after more than a decade of thoughtful and thorough public input. There is strong support from citizens and a formal authorization to proceed by vote of the City Council.

The sad truth is that Mr. Davis has a long, documented history of verbal bullying, most often directed toward women in leadership positions. We see this same approach taken over and over again in comments made at council meetings, in letters to the editor, during public meetings. He seems to take pleasure in the attack, often chuckling to himself after a particularly vicious statement. Ironically, he has now become a caricature, a noise that is often discounted as irrelevant.

This most recent letter is simply more of the same. It is unfortunate that The Herald chose to publish what is, at its core, an unwarranted attack against one former and two current female council members. It should be ignored.
