I am writing this letter to support the candidacy and election of Patrick Decker to the Lynnwood City Council, Position 6. As a long-time resident of Lynnwood, a member of its business community and vice chair of the city Planning Commission, Patrick Decker will bring a great deal of community experience to the council. Issues he will emphasize include improving traffic conditions, programs and funding for youth organizations, support for our emergency personnel and streamlining council operations.
Our council is in desperate need of change. The dynamic of the current council is exceedingly negative, as noted in The Herald’s April 30, 2003, article “Lynnwood mayor talks of rift with 3 on council.” Additionally, the council avoids or unnecessarily prolongs making decisions on important matters and spends countless hours dwelling on minor concerns.
Patrick will bring positive energy, independent thinking and decision-making skills to the council. As the only non-incumbent in the Lynnwood City Council race, Patrick Decker will get my vote and I encourage other citizens to do the same!
