Regarding the Nov. 21 article “Two sides of Lund’s Gulch”:
I was a student of Mr. Duane Uusitalo’s 8th grade salmonids class in 1984. If it were not for his efforts, Meadowdale would most likely have already lost Lund’s Gulch Creek and might have never known the difference. The positive effects from the years of planting salmon in Lund’s Gulch can never be calculated or rightly justified with words. Witnessing an adult salmon struggle to make his way up that creek from oceans halfway around the world is truly an event worthy of respect.
Over the years, Meadowdale Beach has been a favorite spot of mine. Truly a hidden treasure where you could escape from the ugliness that is suburban sprawl. I hope that its pristine qualities will endure for generations to come.
